Marjolijn Dokter

Marjolijn started on drums in 1993 and took drumlessons at the music school of Deventer for 3 years. She stopped for two years after she found out that this wasn’t what she really wanted to do.

The drumming spirit came back, so she joined the schoolband and founded her own band called “Springcheese”. Her first gigs and many more bands followed. In 2005 she was auditioning (with her band The Freaks) for a spot at Popacademy in Leeuwarden and at the Rockacademy in Tilburg. Both auditions were successful and she choose the Rockacademy as her school from which she graduated. The Tilburg based band “One in a Million” was also looking for a new drummer so she also auditioned there. Again this audition was successful, so the gigs and recordings started immediately. Together with fellow Rockacademy students she started the band “The Mekanik".
